Diwali is the single biggest corporate gifting event in the Indian calendar — and also the one with the tightest supply window. Electronics and appliance brands' festive-ready stock moves fast between late September and mid-October. Here's how to plan it by budget and by recipient tier.
Step 1: segment your recipients
Most companies run at least two tiers: a base gift for all employees/dealers, and an upgraded gift for managers, top clients or long-tenure staff. Trying to gift everyone the same thing regardless of level is the most common budget-planning mistake we see.
Budget-wise Diwali gifting ideas
- Under Rs.500 — dealer/distributor network tokens, mass employee giveaways, festive sweets-box add-ons.
- Rs.500–Rs.1,000 — the standard "thank you" gift for a large employee base.
- Rs.1,000–Rs.2,000 and Rs.2,000–Rs.3,000 — the most common core-employee Diwali gifting bands.
- Rs.3,000–Rs.5,000 and above — leadership team, board members, top 20-50 clients.
Categories that work well for Diwali specifically
Electronics (earbuds, speakers, smartwatches), home & kitchen appliances, and premium bedding/home textiles are consistently the top-performing Diwali categories in bulk corporate gifting — they read as festive and practical at the same time, and most brands run Diwali-specific packaging or colour variants.
Ordering timeline that actually works
- 6-8 weeks before Diwali: finalise budget tiers and shortlist 2-3 SKUs per tier.
- 4-6 weeks before: place the bulk order — this is when festive-stock allocation from brands starts running out for popular SKUs.
- 2-3 weeks before: confirm branding/packaging and delivery address list (especially for multi-location dealer networks).
